3D worlds from 2D photographs

Microsoft today launched Photosynth to the public. This software plus services release from Ray Ozzie’s Live Labs combines the magic of software with power of services.

Access the site now to view already created Synths or create your own.

The basic premise is lots of photos of an object, space or place are used to build a 3D representation of that place.

Got pictures of the Pantheon? Combine them with photos from thousands of others. The more images. The more nuances the better the 3D world.
